LOL! This is a brilliant premise for a fic! I love the idea of Sherlock and Mycroft having a clandestine affair...with cigarettes! *g* It's great that Lestrade thinks of himself as cheating on Mycroft when he goes with Sherlock to have a smoke. You do an excellent job of describing the appeal of smoking and the appeal of smoking with Sherlock. I like these lines in particular:
Quitting smoking with Sherlock was a warpath, an adventure and a secret affair. It was exciting and it could get him in trouble in five different ways, and that was probably why Lestrade went along with it in the first place.
I had to smile when Sherlock told Lestrade to shower and wash his clothes before meeting Mycroft, as tell-tale smells are such a classic giveaway when it comes to affairs. *g*
